Enjoy Thailand in Seven ColoursThawatchai Aunyik, the governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand has revealed the next national tourism campaign for Thailand to be launched this November.

The ‘Colours of Happiness’ will be the sub-theme for Thailand’s 2015 tourism campaign. Using orange, green, blue, purple, white, yellow and sky blue to communicate different messages to different target groups, international visitors will enjoy new experiences as well as a range of activities.

TAT will launch its ‘Discover Thainess’ campaign at the World Tourism Mart in the UK this November.

TIDE 2014 Just Around the CornerThe DITP will hold Thailand Innovation and Design Expo (TIDE) 2014 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre from September 18 to 21.

Delegates will find innovations in various sectors – agriculture, food & beverage, fashion, digital content, automotive, electronics, alternative energy, health & wellness, retail business, and construction. Highlights include the showcasing of Asia Talent 2014 and the Design Zone. TIDE 2014 is part of Thailand’s progression towards a knowledge-based economy.

Thailand to Increase Agricultural Exports to Russia

Russia’s one-year embargo on the import of goods from the EU and the US until August 2015 presents Thailand with a great opportunity for exporting its own agricultural and food products, in particular rice, chicken and seafood to the eastern European nation.

Chutima Bunyapraphasara, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, said on August 28 that the Russian government is interested in ASEAN’s agricultural products, and will introduce policy to ease the access of ASEAN’s agricultural products to Russia.

DITP Roadshow Ready to RollNuntawan Sakuntanaga, the director general of the DITP, says the department teamed up with 20 Thai entrepreneurs and trade representatives on a business trip to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Turkey from August 30 to September 6. The team explored the major business centres and mega malls that sell auto parts, electronic devices, gems and jewellery, rubber products, food and home decor made in Thailand.

“Dubai and Istanbul, the two biggest cities and tourist destinations in the region, are international target markets we aim to penetrate,” said Sakuntanaga. “The DITP will go on supporting and promoting business in the Middle East, especially market extension and value-added schemes. The DITP will also foster trade between Thailand and potential markets such as ASEAN, China, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and the Commonwealth of Independent States.”

Thai Gifts Premium& Decorative Association will hold the fourth Thailand Gifts & Premium Fair (TGP Fair) from September 10 to 12 at the BITEC Centre Bangna, Bangkok (Hall 102).

Presenting a wild range of over 10,000 imported and exported products from 300 companies, the event will offer business matching opportunities for international and domestic buyers and entrepreneurs. An expected 300 million baht (US$9.42 million) worth of orders will be placed over the three days.
