Health conscious consumers around the world, especially in the US, are keen to purchase food and non-food products that are environmental-friendly and help enhance their quality of life, DITP General-Director Malee Choklumlerd said on May 19.

“Consumers prefer products with natural ingredients, an environmental-friendly production process and are good for their health. Businesses must show how they care about society and the environment to encourage consumers to buy products and services,” she said.

For health conscious consumers, potential food products include protein from insects and grain, protein extract/synthetic protein, and ready-to-eat food with high protein. Non-food products include latex pillows and mattresses, coconut fibre mattresses, natural wood furniture and decorative items, clothes and other personal care products made from natural ingredients.
