The Ministry of Commerce organised a business-matching activity for rice and tapioca traders from November 14 to 16 at the Centara Grand, Central Plaza Ladprao Hotel, Bangkok.
According to Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn, the business-matching event attracted 300 traders from 41 countries and 100 local traders of rice, tapioca and their by-products. It generated US$1.78 billion (62.25 billion baht) in combined purchase orders.
At this event, Thai exporters also signed five memoranda of understanding (MoUs) for 11,000 tonnes of rice and 800,000 tonnes of tapioca chips with Hong Kong buyers.
