The US has decided to remove Thailand from its list of worst human trafficking offenders in its annual Trafficking in Persons (TIP) report, which was released on June 30.
The measure, which has lifted Thailand to the Tier 2 Watch List, is in recognition of the Thai government’s efforts in combatting human trafficking.
“Thailand’s upgrade in the TIP report is expected to boost exports of Thai frozen seafood products to the US, Europe and other foreign markets in the second half of this year,”
said DITP’s Director-General Malee Choklumlerd.
