Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn ordered DITP offices worldwide to do their utmost to boost Thai exports in the second half of this year.

“We are focusing on promoting the exports of Thai products and services, especially in high value services such as design, digital content and animation, as well as increasing Thailand’s outward direct investment,” Tantraporn said on May 26.

The ministry will help Thai businesses penetrate ASEAN countries by promoting Thai brand awareness through trade fairs, such as Top Thai Brands in Laos and Mini Thailand Week in Cambodia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia.

In the first four months of 2016, Thailand’s export value dropped by 1.24% to US$69.37 billion. However, the MoC has maintained its target of 5% growth for the year.
