The DITP and the Thai Hotel and Hospitality Management Association organised business matching activities for companies in the Thai and Myanmar hotel and restaurant industry from May 10 to 13 in Yangon and Mandalay.
Nineteen Thai entrepreneurs including hotel owners, hotel management providers and hotel amenities and products suppliers, and 231 Myanmar hotel owners, real estate developers and trading companies participated in the event.
“The matching activity was a great success,” said DITP Director General Malee Choklumlerd. “Myanmar hoteliers are seeking business partners to operate their hotels, and some have started negotiations [with Thai companies]. Businesses that make accessories for Thai hotels are also looking for distributors in Myanmar with plans to open showrooms in Yangon.”
