Thailand has set a target of increasing bilateral trade with Russia five-fold within five years from US$2.35 billion in 2015, Commerce Ministry Apiradi Tantraporn stated on May 17.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-cha paid an official visit to Russia from May 17 to 20. During the trip, 30 major Thai private enterprises from food, rubber, electronics and finance industries met some 100 Russian private businesses, while the Thai government persuaded Russia companies to increase investment in Thailand.
Russian businesses in Thailand are mostly concerned with the tourism sector, software and digital content.
