Thai businesses should pay more attention to Hispanic consumers who have a higher purchasing power in the US, Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn said on May 23.

To help Thai entrepreneurs penetrate this market, the DITP held a seminar entitled Thailand’s Next Big Opportunity: The US Hispanic Market at THAIFEX 2016 on May 26. The purpose was to disseminate information about the demands of Hispanic consumers, product distribution channels and the opportunities for Thai products. There was also a series of business matching activities between Thai businesses and food distributors from the US specialising in the Hispanic market.

There are 55 million Hispanic consumers in the US, and it is estimated that the number will reach 127 million in 2050 or about 29% of the total population.
