Thai food franchises are urged to expand their businesses into Cambodia to benefit from the changing lifestyle of the Cambodians.

At the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh on May 6, Minister Counsellor (Commercial) Jiranun Wongmongkol stated that franchises have become popular in Cambodia, thanks to the country’s fast expanding urbanisation and the lifestyle of young Cambodians, who are dining out more often. Overseas visitors also have high purchasing power and are familiar with franchises.

“Thai food is a well-known cuisine for Cambodians and foreigners and this is another opportunity for Thai franchises in Cambodia,” Wongmongkol said.
