The DITP is aiming to increase the competitiveness of SMEs through its three-year SMEs Pro-Active project (2016-2018), DITP Director-General Malee Choklumlerd announced on April 26.

“The SMEs Pro-Active project is an opportunity for SMEs to gain experience doing business abroad and get to know buyers’ and consumers’ behaviour in other countries,” Choklumlerd said.

The project is in align with the department’s 2016 export promotion plan and has a budget of 400 million baht (US$11.4 million).

The previous project (2013-2015) helped 2,602 companies to become exporters. During that time, companies participated in 427 business matching activities which yielded over US$269 million in trade value.
