According to a report from the DITP Office in Miami, the market for dog and cat food in the US is worth US$21.19 billion and is expected to reach US$28.19 billion by 2020.
“Manufacturers and exporters of dog and cat food in Thailand who are interested in entering the US market should carefully study the USFDA guidelines about pet food imports,” DITP Director-General Malee Choklumlerd said April 16.
Dog and cat food exports from Thailand to the US currently amount to US$191 million per year. Products in high demand include organic pet food and those made from natural ingredients and free from certain food allergens such as gluten.
