The DITP is encouraging Thai herbal cosmetic companies to export to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). DITP Director-General Malee Choklumlerd said on April 8 that the UAE is a significant market for cosmetics products and halal products and it could be used as a distribution hub for the region.
“Thai herbal cosmetic products have the potential for growth in this market because they are unique,” she said. “In addition to high quality, we have to present these cosmetics in beautiful packaging at affordable prices to compete with products from other countries.”
The cosmetic and personal care product market in the UAE is forecast to grow by 4.8% this year.
