Deputy Commerce Minister Suvit Maesincee along with delegates from the Commerce Ministry and the Thailand-Vietnam Business Council visited Vietnam from March 26 to 28.

The purpose of the trip was to seek new opportunities and identify the challenges of doing business in Vietnam as well as strengthening relations between the two countries.

Vietnamese officials informed Maesincee that the country’s government was improving rules and regulations to support foreign investment in the country.

“Thai products are popular among Vietnamese people because of their high quality and affordability. There are a lot of opportunities for Thai products and services in this market,” he said.

The governments of Thailand and Vietnam previously agreed to boost bilateral trade to US$20 billion by 2020.
