The Ministry of Commerce has encouraged Thai businesses to invest in China to take advantage of bright opportunities in the global superpower.

DITP Director-General Malee Choklumlerd stated on February 19 that statistics collected from its Kumming office showed that foreign direct investment (FDI) in China for 2015 was more than US$12.6 billion, up 6% on the previous year.

Those receiving most interest were the medical supplies, personal health and medicine, telecommunications and service sectors. Meanwhile, Thai businesses recognised for their expertise in the service sector included restaurants, spas, hotels and those in e-commerce.
