Issue 45

The DITP joined with the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Thai Industries, the Thai National Shippers’ Council and the Thai Bankers’ Association to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the second phase of the SMEs Pro-active project on February 10.

The organisations will spend 400 million baht to support over 2,600 Thai SMEs in joining overseas trade fairs and business negotiations in order to increase export value. The first phase of the project generated over 8,600 million baht in export value.

“This project is very beneficial for Thai businesses, especially SMEs who have limited funds,” Commerce Minister, Apiradee Tantraporn, said. “If they are able to meet foreign buyers in overseas trade fairs, they will be able to meet target customers, enabling more trade, and leading to a sustainable business.”
