The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has predicted a 5% growth in exports for 2016 due to the government’s economic stimulating measures, DITP Director General, Malee Choklumlerd, stated on December 22. 

According to Choklumlerd, the DITP expects bilateral trade with the US and EU to increase by 3% and 2.8% respectively.

The MOC will also implement seven strategies to promote Thai exports. These include cooperation with other nations, promoting Thai exports and increased border trade. Other strategies include encouraging Thai manufacturers to seek overseas investments, improving trade services, promoting the role of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the export sector, and increasing the value of exports.
