A delegate of 40 Thai SMEs joined a business meeting with Japanese counterparts as part of Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak’s official visit to Japan from November 25 to 28.

“The meeting gave the opportunity for Thai SMEs to meet and discuss business cooperation with 108 Japanese counterparts,” Salinee Wangtan, director of the Office of SMEs Promotion (OSMEP), said. “They also learned more about the Japanese market and the products that Japanese consumers are looking for.”

According to Wangtan, Japanese businesses have placed orders for 40 water treatment machines, and will make 200 more orders in 2017. She added that Japanese SME operators will visit Thailand in early 2016, to develop business opportunities with Thai businesses.
