The Thai Trade Centre in Rome cooperated with Conad (Consorzio Nazionale Dettaglianti), one of the largest supermarket chains in Italy to organise a promotional event for Thai food products at Taste of Thailand @ CONAD 2015 in May. The most popular products included rice, beer and frozen food products.
“The DITP sees the important of collaborating with large European supermarkets to promote Thai food products. The department plans to work together with Conad supermarket again the future,” DITP Director-General Malee Choklumlerd stated on December 15.
In the first ten months of this year, bilateral trade between Thailand and Italy totalled US$2.7 billion. Thailand’s import from Italy were worth US$1.5 billion, and exports topped US$1.1 billion. Top exports included automotive parts, air conditioning units, frozen food, jewellery and accessories.
