The International Trade Promotion and the Business Development department of the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) in November launched a project called Smart Online SMEs (SOS) that will encourage small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to engage in online trading.

“The MOC has continuously supported the development of SMEs and help them to remain competitive in the world market,” said ApiradeeTuntraporn, Minister of Commerce on November 7, 2015. “They [SMEs] are also encouraged to conduct more businesses through online trading."

According to Tuntraporn, 3,000 SMEs operators will be encouraged to utilise online trading, of which 1,000 have an export potential.
