DITP Director-General Malee Choklumlerd, highlighted the potential business of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) market on October 7. The Pink Dollar could be worth approximately US$3 trillion per year.
However, as Asian countries are not fully open to these groups in terms of social media and smartphone applications, further cooperation would help stimulate trading sales.
According to the policy of Ministry of Commerce, businesspeople and exporters were advised to use online communication, which is the key channel for the Pink Dollar market, as a tool to further expand their business opportunities. This could help stimulate Thailand’s future international trade.
