Minister of Commerce, Apiradee Tantraporn, revealed on October 9 that Thailand will join the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and that the country has prepared itself in all aspects.

The minister said Vietnam’s decision to join the TPP will not affect the country’s competitiveness, and that currently only three members of the TPP – US, Canada and Mexico – had not signed Free Trade Agreements (FTA) with Thailand.

According to Tantraporn, meetings between the public and private sectors are being held to update business-related laws.
