DITP Director-General, Malee Choklumlerd, announced that nine digital content companies attended MIPCOM 2015, one of the world’s biggest events for the digital content industry from October 5 to 8 at Cannes, France.

The DITP collaborated with the Software Industry Promotion Agency (SIPA) and the Thai Animation and Computer Graphics Association (TAGCA) to bring the companies to MIPCOM. The event generated over $4 million, or approximately 140 million baht worth of sales.

“Our businesspeople are truly happy with the feedback,” said Choklumlerd. “We will bring more digital content businesses to MIPCOM in 2016 as it clearly shows that our digital content industry has a very high potential in terms of creativity and quality.”

In 2014, the total value generated from the digital content industry was around 46 billion baht – 26 billion baht for films and 20 billion baht for animation and games. The strength of the industry lies in production and post-production services and computer graphics.
