Thailand hosted the second meeting of the Joint Trade Committee (JTC) with Vietnam from July 20 to 22. The meeting aimed at promoting bilateral trade and investment between the two countries.
Representatives from both Ministries of Commerce attended the meeting to discuss cooperation on the trade of rice and rubber, information exchange and logistics. Both countries expect to increase bilateral trade to US$20 billion within the next five years from the current US$10 billion (2014).
The main exports from Thailand to Vietnam are plastic pellets, automotives and autoparts, rubber products, and fresh and processed fruit.
