DITP Director-General Nantawan Sakuntanaga announced July 20 that Thai exports to Australia from January to May had increased by 15.45%, to a value of US$3.9 billion. Top exports are automotive parts, steel, air conditioning, plastics, canned seafood, rubber, computers and cosmetics.

“The presence of the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Banking Group, which aims to facilitate trade and business activities between both countries has helped to increase opportunities for Thai exports,” said Sakuntanaga. “Thailand also benefits from the Thailand-Australia Free Trade Agreement (TAFTA), which has eliminated the majority of tariffs on goods exported to Australia.”
