The DITP together with the private sector has put in place a plan to boost Thai jewellery and accessory exports.

“The strategies include sending representatives from Thailand to four countries – France, South Korea, China and Bahrain,” DITP Director-General Nuntawan Sakuntanaga announced on June 15. “The department expects the exports of jewellery and accessories to increase by 5% from last year. During the first four months of this year, the country has generated US$2.4 billion from jewellery exports.”

Sakuntanaga also encouraged Thai businesses to use the power of the internet to increase sales.

“Thai businesspeople should enhance their knowledge regarding e-commerce, which offers convenience to both buyers and sellers,” she said. “They can also get a track the shipment and delivery information."
