Sales on the Thaitrade.com website reached over 1.3 billion baht in Q2, 2015, DITP Director-General Nuntawan Sakuntanaga announced on May 20.
“In April, 626 purchasing orders from 50 countries were made on Thaitrade.com” she said. “The top three countries with the highest orders are Nigeria, Cameroon and Turkey respectively. Food packaging, home textiles and beverages top the list of orders made on Thaitrade.com.
Sakuntanaga added that Thaitrade.com could help Thai businesses expand their overseas trade especially with the advent of ASEAN Economy Community (AEC). “Thai businesses should be encouraged to … trade online on Thaitrade.com. Management and network connections should be enhanced and international trade services should also be developed to encourage Thai businesses to step into the world market.”
