The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) launched its Pee Jung Nong project on April 27. The aim is to help increase the competitiveness and expand the market for Thailand’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) It is hoped that it will help boost the overall economy.

“The project is deemed important for Thai SMEs in order to improve their position in export markets,” Chatchai Sarikulya, Minister of Commerce, said. “The MOC is helping them by providing knowledge regarding marketing and finding new markets. The ministry is working closely with the private sector and experienced enterprises to give useful advice to small SMEs.”

DITP Director General Nuntawan Sakuntanaga added, “Majority of Thai companies are SMEs, and the Ministry of Commerce realises their contribution to the economy. The government sector is working with leading Thai companies, such as CP Group, Thai Charoen Corporation, Central Group and Sahaphat Group to assist small SMEs and provide valuable information for Thai SMEs to explore the international market and increase their competitiveness.”
