Officials from the Chinese government met with Thai counterparts to discuss the Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation (PBGEC), which is projected to boost logistics between both countries.

Commerce Minister Chatchai Sarikulya said, “Under the PBGEC, Thailand will request privileges in sea transportation of fruit, similar to the agreements with other ports, as Thailand has the potential to produce high quality fruit while China imports a large amount of fruit.”

The commerce minister also stated that 2015 will mark the 40th anniversary of Thai-Chinese diplomatic relations. This year he will attend the 12th China-ASEAN Expo, a grand international event for economics and trade exchanges held annually at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Centre (NICEC), Guangxi, China. The expo is to be held from September 18 to 21, with the DITP bringing over 122 government officials and entrepreneurs to the event.
