DITP Director General Nuntawan Sakuntanaga announced on April 20 that Thailand generated over US$1.3 billion from the export of construction materials in January and February 2015, and is expected to generate US$8.7 billion by the end of this year.
“Australia and the United States are importing more steel and steelmaking raw materials, while Thailand is also exporting more cement to Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos,” said Sakuntanaga.
According to the DITP Director General, the private sector anticipates that construction and property development will benefit from the upcoming ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) as there will be greater demand for commercial buildings and factories
