Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha visited the Innovation and Technology for SMEs and Agriculture exhibition in March. The fair was organised by the DITP with the aim to expand the market for Thai SMEs and One Tambon One Product (OTOP) businesses.
One product particularly drew the Thai PMs notice.
“The Prime Minister paid special attention to a biodegradable container made from tapioca, as this product can be used in ovens and microwaves, while able to hold both hot and cold products. This innovation promotes good health and lessens environmental impact,” said DITP Director General Nuntawan Sakuntanaga.
The fair was held in alignment with the government’s policy to proactively promote international trade through strategies regarding value creation, innovation and branding for Thai products.
