Commerce Minister Chatchai Sarikulya chaired a meeting with representatives from the commerce ministries of 60 countries and foreign traders at the Thailand International Furniture Fair (TIFF2015) and Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair 2015 (BIF&BIL) on March 16.

The meeting was to discuss progress towards key export strategies initiated by the Commerce Ministry to drive economic growth. The strategies include management of agricultural products, maintaining living costs, encouraging exports and preparation for the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).

“Commerce ambassadors are urged to proactively support the ministry by focusing on four key markets, which are: ASEAN; moderately economic development countries, consisting of China, India and Australia; high economic development countries, namely the United States, Europe, Japan; and new markets, including Africa,” he said. “Commerce ambassadors are expected to become more business-minded and provide information about Thailand, especially regarding trade and business-related activities.”
