Thailand’s Commerce Minister Chatchai Sarikulya, Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul and senior officials from the Board of Investment and private companies paid a visit to India between February 24 and 27.

According to Commerce Ministry spokesperson Duangkamol Jiambutr, the Thai delegation witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on trade and business partnerships between the Thai and Indian private sectors. The delegation also met India’s commerce and industry minister to discuss bilateral trade with India, which is expected to increase to US$1.3 billion by this year. Products with a high potential for export include fruits, automobile parts, gems and jewellery, air conditioning and television units.
