DITP Director-General Nuntawan Sakuntanaga has encouraged Thai entrepreneurs to produce goods that cater to the needs of elderly people in Japan.

“A survey conducted among Japanese adults aged 40-60 has revealed that 50.2% are likely to spend on leisure and tourism, while 40.9% would spend on hobbies and 36.1% on goods consumption,” she said on February 16.

“Thai entrepreneurs should consider the aging population in Japan is likely to increase and they should offer products that meet the needs of this target group, since tourism is in demand and any travel related products are deemed potentially lucrative.”
