DITP Director-General Nuntawan Sakuntanaga announced on February 3 that Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam have the potential for high economic growth. The four CMLV nations saw an average growth of 6.5% over the past three years.

“Cheap labour costs and abundance of natural resources have attracted foreign investors into the region,” she said. “The upcoming ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) will provide many opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs and an effective logistic system and management will help them gain a competitive advantage. It is vital for Thai firms to thoroughly understand logistic operations in the region.”

The Knowledge Institute of International Trade organised a seminar on logistics in CLMV for Thai entrepreneurs on January 21 to provide insight on logistic management and investment in neighboring countries once the AEC is implemented.
