Issue 19

The Department of Industrial Promotion (DIP) held a meeting with entrepreneurs from the city of Minamiboso, Japan on January 7 with the aim of increasing trade between two countries. The plan is to encourage trade relationships between the DIP and Minamiboso, promote community enterprises on a global level and facilitate the exchange of information between both countries.

“Currently there are 1.28 million community-based enterprises and they play a significant role in strengthening the country’s economy,” said Atchaka Sibunruang, Permanent Secretary, the Ministry of Industry. “Minamiboso has more experience in community-based enterprises and Thai entrepreneurs can enhance their knowledge and competitiveness through the exchange of information.”

Thailand has also collaborated with other prefectures in Japan, including Shimane, Aichi, Saitama, Yamanashi, Akita, Tottori, Kanagawa, Fukui and Toyama.
