Pitipong Puengboon na Ayutthaya, the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, presided over a debate on The Future Development of Thai Rice, during a press conference for the upcoming 4th International Rice Congress, IRC 2014.
The Theme for IRC 2014 will be Rice for the World
The theme for IRC 2014 is Rice for the World, stressing the importance of scientific research as well as logistics and supply chain management. IRC 2014 will include displays involving automatic rice seeding robots, a dielectric heater that can kill rice weevil and a small brown rice milling machine.
An exhibition in honour of His Majesty the King featuring His Majesty’s initiative projects and speeches related to rice farming will run parallel to IRC 2014. The exhibition will also feature a variety of rice products and advanced technologies of rice production in Thailand.
IRC 2014 will take place from October 27 to November 1 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Bangkok.
